Nice day
Today we dropped Grandma and Grandpa Patterson off at the airport. It was sad to see them go. We will see them again soon though once daddy comes home! Grandpa bought me an easter bunny- here are some pics with me playing with it.
Talked to Blair today. He said things are going well and he is looking forward to coming home very soon now.

Happy 6 month birthday to me!
Today is my 6th month birthday. We go to the doctor on Thursday and will find out how much I weigh and my height. I am getting big though..I have outgrown over 1/2 of my 3-6 month clothes already. Grandma and Grandpa Patterson were here to celebrate with me. We played lots today with all my favorite toys and went out to eat to Mommy's favorite restaurant, Olive Garden.

Grandma and Grandpa visit with me
Thursday, February 28, 2008
Cute pic back from Valentine's day that Grandma Cellon sent me. We are headed to the doctor today to get some feedback on all of her ongoing issues. Her reflux/ ecsema are still there and keep flaring up. We will see what the doctor says. I just want my little girl to not be in pain so much. Grandma and Grandpa Patterson are headed to NC tomorrow. We are soooo excited. Looks like they are bringing the warmer weather too. It was a brisk 25 degrees here this morning. During our walking group, I lost feeling in my legs :). Bailey was nice and warm in her fleece snowsuit and JJCole carseat bundle thing. She was too cute-slept the whole walk. Wouldn't it be nice to be like that as an adult? Have someone wheel you around when you are completely bundled up and warm? Sounds good to me.

Lazy Sunday
Today Bailey and I "took it easy". We only went to Sunday School and she stayed with me during that due to us both still fighting a cold. Here are several pics from today that were too cute. Hopefully we will both be better soon. We are excited to see Grandma and Grandpa Patterson on Friday!! Only 5 more days to go.

Sleep and Sickness
Today was an even better day for sleep. Bailey slept from 7pm-6am straight. Took two 1 1/2 hour naps and 1 45min nap. So, that is sooooo good. However, during the day she has not been so happy (does a baby ever have both? this child either is happy and no sleep or sleeps and is not happy). I have figured she is teething. EVERYTHING goes into her mouth today. She ate a receipt at Target while I was talking to Blair on the phone. Oops. She had half of it in a mess of wet paper over her mouth. Hopefully ink isn't something she is allergic too :(). I am praying teething only lasts a few days.
So, we have been on the "allergen free" diet for 8 days now. I am feeling sick again though. This is what happened last time. I made it a week and then bam, sick. I don't know if it is my immune system, just "coincidence", something I am eating that I am allergic to but didn't know, or the devil. It is really frustrating. Going to bed early tonight to help ward off any severe symptoms. Right now, it feels as if it is just "allergies" (itchy eyes, scratchy throat, fluid in ears)- however I don't have allergies. Weird huh?

Hallelujah!
Bailey slept from 7pm to 6:30am straight. Oh my goodness. I feel like a new woman. It is so wonderful to wake up refreshed. Even Snickers feels better for all the non-interrupted rest ;).
Not only that, but she has now been asleep for her morning nap for about 1 1/2 hours. Seriously folks, this is UNHEARD of for this child. Who knew that food allergies could disrupt every aspect of a poor baby's life? If these are the results to avoiding all these foods, I will gladly do it!
Praise the Lord for such a good morning. It is sunny, a brisk 50 degrees outside (which I happen to love) and a perfect day for a long walk. Only 37 more days until Mr. Blair comes home. Countdown is approaching soon. Thank you everyone who has been praying for us during this time.

A mom's work is never done
Sometimes I wonder if I will ever get to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon ever again. I am sure all new and older mom's feel the same. Even if I get miss Bailey to take a nap (which means 45minutes in our world :()., my cat demands attention. Even now, Snickers is on my arm as I am typing just purring up a storm. I don't know if this "constant demand for Mom's attention" will get better or worse after Blair gets home. Let us hope better. I guess eventually you get used to having something demand your attention all the time as well.
Bailey is doing better now that I am avoiding all the Top 8 allergens (Milk, Soy, Wheat, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Fish, Shellfish, Eggs) as well as beef, pork, onion, tomato, corn and green peppers. Her rashes and runny poo are gone!! I am waiting or her nightwaking and short naps to get better as well. What do I eat you may ask? Well- I found the best grocery store ever in Wilmington that stocks Allergen free food. I bought some brownie mix, chocolate chips and rice cheese. For someone who loves ALL food, these restrictions have been life-altering. The one blessing is I am a smaller size now then before I was pregnant. Hopefully she will outgrow her allergies soon. I am deciding which allergen to "trial" first. Which would you do? I am thinking wheat.---well, b/c how can a girl life without bread? But maybe soy due to my lack of calcium foods. We will see. Hopefully she will continue to improve on this diet and we won't have to go to formula. Wow- the joys and hardships of the "first child". They are such a guinea pig in so many ways. We will see how Blair enjoys this diet when he gets home. Can't be worse then MRE's or Iraqi food though :).

My first trip to Virginia
We went to Northern Virginia this weekend to see some old friends. Bailey and I had fun shopping with Amber (who has Bailey's 2nd boyfriend Avery cooking in the oven), hanging out with First Baptist friends and just enjoying the cooler weather. We stayed at my friend Nanette's house who has a 7 1/2 month old baby girl, Katie. Bailey enjoyed playing with all of Katie's toys. Bailey and Katie are a similar weight, but Katie is a couple inches taller. She made my Bailey girl look chubby :). Ahhhh...if only the doctor's could see Bailey now...they wouldn't have made me wake her up for the first 6 weeks so much to eat. Amazing how quickly a 6lb 1 oz baby girl can grow. We are back in NC and are starting to get ready for Blair to return. Only 7 more weeks to go!
