Funny Bailey...

Most weeks we try to memorize one verse out of this book for the girls (and me!!). While we are now on "N", this morning in the car I decided to "review" from the beginning all the verses with them. We started out "AS for me and my house we will serve the Lord". Then "BE kind to one another". Then I said, let's do the C verse "Children..". Bailey stopped me and said NO! I don't like that verse! (The complete verse is Children, obey your Parent's in the Lord for this is right.). HA! How funny is that?!?! She knows the verses so well she knows which ones she DOESN'T like. Got me to thinking how sometimes I want to "ignore" certain verses in the bible that go against what I want to do..... It is exciting and enlightening teaching your children the ways of the Lord. You realize how closely your "self" resembles a 3 year old....

Super Sunday

Today was a great day.  We had a good day at church….our pastor has been preaching off of the book Christian Atheist.  If you haven’t read it I highly recommend it!   We had a couple friends over for lunch and then had an afternoon playing and getting some stuff done around the house.

Here is the “suspect” squirrel that I think took off with the bird’s treats.  Today during lunch he took off with the girl’s water table boat!!!!  Must be REALLY hungry to want plastic ;).  He doesn’t seem in need of much food to me…

Slip n slide indoor edition!

They both loved playing this game…I was impressed Bailey could pull Taylor around.  They are only about 10 lbs different in weight.

Some random thoughts….

It has been a day of reflection for me….mainly during my 13 mile run this morning (1:53 was my time for those that care…)

- Runing is NOT a cheap sport.  I am way beyond the need of new shoes (~$80).  I will need to replace these at least 3x/year at this rate…if I run a marathon later this year it will be even more.   Who knew you had to change your shoes so often!

- Running for 2 hours gets a little boring.  HOWEVER, it is so blissful to have 2 hours of complete silence that I have learned to love it!

-It really does make a difference what you eat and drink while training.  Duh…Sara…

-I am so hungry after a long run that I literally eat every hour or so throughout the rest of the day!

-I made homemade mac n cheese for the first time tonight and Kale with prosciutto for the first time this week (both very good!).

-I think I have finally come up for my goals for this year…I made a goal to have my goals ready by the end of the month. Ha!

-When we pulled into the park today, Bailey said “I don’t want to run”…(she didn’t want to ride in the stroller while I ran and then go to the park)..I told her we weren’t going running today…she was so excited.  Poor baby!  (I only run 2 days a week with them in the stroller).

-That’s about all I have right now.  13 miles + day with the girls = fried Sara.

Bird Treat Craft

I am really, really, really trying to be more crafty with the girls.  Running 13 miles is no problem….coming up and completing crafts?  Completely overwhelming!.  I saw this bird treat craft in a magazine and knew we had all the supplies…we did it after naptime one day and had a blast!

We took bread, cut a circle and basted it with egg whites.  Then roll it in bird seed and hang it with a string/ribbon.  (the treats were gone within 24 hours…I am suspecting our very large squirrel population got to it before the birds!)

IMG_3937

Taylor’s treat kinda fell apart…

It has been a little warmer the past few days…we have enjoyed playing outside for short bursts of time!

Sister love

Taylor insisted in riding in the “babydoll” stroller the other day.  She barely fit as you can see below!

Bailey’s face is hilarious!  A 37lb 3 yr old pushing a 27lb 1 year old.

The royal throne

These days, our potty’s are very busy…  Taylor is doing great going to the potty when we all think of it.  I am not “potty” training her, but just putting her on it when she wants to go.  She actually uses the potty over half the time!  I am thankful for our little potty chair as when one wants to go, the other one just HAS to go at the EXACT same time.

IMG_3930

Here is my big girl.  She has literally gained 2 pounds in the past month or so.  She is finally outgrowing her 18 month clothes….She will sit on the potty and say “book” and then “bye bye”.  She wants her privacy when going potty!! :).

Baking with Grammie

Bailey loves baking with her Grandma!  She ate quite a bit of the raw tea cake dough :).

Sophie’s visit

Once at the Cellon’s, we had the pleasure of having Rebekah and Sophie over for a visits .  They live in Arizona and we only see them once or twice a year when we are all home.  Sophie is less then a week YOUNGER then Tales, although she made Taylor look like a shrimp :).

Beautiful Sophie!

Thanks Rebekah for taking time to come over!  We look forward to seeing you in a month…

On the road again..

After almost a week at my parent’s we drove down to Gainesville to spend New Years with the Cellon’s.  Here is one last picture with “Barbie” Grandma and “Fishy” Papa before we headed out.  Thanks guys for a great visit (and watching the girls so much when I went running)

Last moments…

Blair left the morning of the 20th.  I was so thankful he was there to celebrate my birthday (I turned 30 on Dec. 19th :)).  We had so much fun with him home and really enjoyed the time that he was here.  We felt it was a good mix of relaxation, sleep, fun and family.  Oh yeah.  food…we had some good food!

Here is Daddy with his two precious little girls (although much bigger then 7 months ago when he last saw them!)

Our family…can’t wait until we are together for more then 2 weeks!!

Aquarium trip

One of the “fun” things we did when Blair was home was take a trip to the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium.  We own season passes and have enjoyed going multiple times.  We ate at one of our favorite places, the Icehouse on the way there.  While the food was good, the kids were terrible…..we said no more eating out ever after that meal :).

Here is Bales on her “turtle”

December Sickness

Since this blog is my “scrapbook” of my family at this point, I wanted to post these pics even though we are totally fine now!

A week after Blair came home (during the weekend that the whole Cellon Clan was here) we all came down with a bad cold.  Taylor and Blair had it the worst.

Here are Bales and Tales with their blankies…

IMG_3693

Poor Tales had bronchiolitis…she was put on antibiotics and we had to break out her nebulizer again. Luckily, she enjoyed holding it all by herself.  Such a big girl.

Poor Blair.  Came all the way home to get sick.  AND he got sick again once he got back in-country!  Boo.

Mama Taylor

“Rocky” Grammie bought Taylor a bunch of doll accessories for her dolly.  She loves all of them, but I thought she was super cute carrying her baby in the wrap thing!  She lived most of her first 9 months in a wrap/carrier (having 2 kids 19 months a part kind of demands that!).   I miss being able to carry my baby around…
