Princess Stitches

This morning I decided to re-arrange our living room to make it seem “larger”….while taking a lamp out to the garage Bailey ran in from the other direction right into an edge of the lamp.  She ended up with a gash on her lip that went all the way through Sad smile.  She was a champ and held her bandages to her lip the whole way to the ER.  Luckily, a friend met us in the parking lot of the hospital and took Tales for a couple hours!

Bailey and I waiting for the doctor to do stiches.  They did not use any Novocain, rather just this bandage soaked in a numbing solution.  Pretty cool!

Bailey received 3 stitches and did FANTASTIC!  She had to lay very still with a towel draped over her head (she couldn’t see).  The doctor took his time to try and get it perfect since it was on her face.  Couldn’t have been prouder of her.  She wanted to go to Rita’s afterward…after not eating since breakfast at 8am, by 3:30pm I was ready to get here whatever she wanted!

Eventually I did get the living room re-arranged.  I got rid of one of our end tables and moved the couch around.  At least you can walk around the whole room now.  Hopefully buyers will agree!

New Bern

While my parent’s were here we took a trip to New Bern.  We first went to Tyron Palace gardens.  So pretty!  There are a lot of historical buildings to peruse, but with 2 kiddos in tow we decided to just stroll around the gardens.  We had PERFECT weather and it was an awesome day!

“Fishy” Papa and “Barbie” Grandma with the girls Smile.

New Bern’s mascot is the “bears”.  There were bears dressed up as all different things (banker, sailor, dentist, etc) all over downtown.  We loved trying to find them all.

Can you find the Tales?  She had a yellow pollen face afterwards after smelling EVERY flower in the garden!

Taylor spent a good 15 minutes running and chasing the birds…she finally decided to “sneak” up on one.  lol.  As you can see, the bird took flight as soon as she got too close!

We finished up the day with ice cream from the Cow CafĂ©.  So yummy.

Taylor’s presents….ahem…

Taylor received some awesome presents for her birthday.  Bailey was her “helper”.  Smile.

Here are Taylor’s 2 new dresses.  Bailey just HAD to wear them…lol. I assure you Tales wore them too.

The purple one is a Rapunzel dress my MIL made…it is amazing!

I found the Cinderella dress at a consignment store (hey…she doesn’t know it isn’t brand new Smile)

Last Day of School

Today we celebrated the last day of school!

Here are the girls on their first day of the 2011-2012 school year:

first day

Here they are today!  (their picture taking skills have NOT improved ..haha.).

IMG_6029

They both loved going to school this year.  We plan on putting them both in a MWF schedule next year.  I love that this will be our 3rd year at the same preschool….even with all the changes with Daddy’s schedule, possibly moving on base and just daily military life their school is staying the same.  Yay!

BFF’s Emma and Bailey.  I am sad that they won’t be in the same class next year Sad smile.  They had an ice cream party today to celebrate a great school year!

Taylor is 3!

On April 29th, my baby turned 3!   My parent’s came up for a visit and we had a blast (although missed Daddy very much).

Taylor is such a sweet girl and literally has me rolling on the floor every day at the funny things she does/say.  She is a very determined and tough girl.  She has grown so much the past couple months and now wears 4T clothing and size 8 shoes.  She is about 35 pounds…we will get her stats next week at the doctor’s office.  She is able to count from 1-10 (after many a month working on that pesky number 4), but still struggles with learning her letters.   We try to “learn” everyday a little more….she is not a big fan of learning right now :).  She loves to snuggle, watch Barbie movies, play with Bailey and play dress-up.  You will rarely find her without jewelry :).  She loves Jesus and enjoys singing and reading her bible stories.  Her favorite foods are mac n cheese and ChickFilA nuggets and fries.  She is a fantastic eater and loves most veggies and fruit.  Give the girl some hummus and celery and she will go to town!

Happy Birthday Tales.  We all love you!

Sesame Street LIVE!

Today we were able to go to Sesame Street LIVE put on by the USO on base.  We have had the tickets and the girls were super excited.  The show had a “military” theme of moving/transition.  Unfortunately, the volume was very low and we weren’t able to follow the story very well.  The girls overall had a blast and we made good memories!

IMG_5943

They gave out these moving glow-in the dark light saber things…totally cool!!

Elmo and Mommy are looking.  Yay!

IMG_5933

Dancing with Elmo!  They both were getting SO into it :)

On a side note….can you believe Tales is turning 3 in 5 days!?!  Where did the time go?

Strawberry Farm

Today the whole family headed to a local strawberry farm and picked tons of fresh, pesticide-free, red, juicy strawberries!  So much fun!

Here are the girls getting ready…
